University of Nusa Mandiri (UNM) taekwondo athlete students won seven medals at the 2021 Papua Open Virtual Taekwondo Championship.
This sporting event will be held on 29-31 May 2021.
The organizer of this activity is the FAD Taekwondo Center Papua in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) of the Republic of Indonesia.
The details of the seven medals are 2 silver medals and 5 bronze medals in the E-Poomsae & Speed Kicking Papua Virtual Open 2021 category.
Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs Arif Hidayat said the achievements of the taekwondo athletes were a very valuable achievement in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The seven medals obtained can be a trigger to win more medals in the next event," said Arif, in a press release, Tuesday (13/7/2021).
Two silver medals, one each for Maria Emeralda, a student of the Information Systems Study Program.
The second silver medal winner is James Winson Raditya, a student of Information Systems Study Program.
Then the athletes who won bronze medals from the Informatics Study Program were Rahmadwi Serinia, Yusuf Khoirul Iksan, Rina Agustina, and Gilang Rahmasyah. Then a taekwondo athlete from the Information Systems Study Program named Rimbun Legisto," said Arif Hidayat.
Furthermore, UNM Student Delegation Coordinator Taopik Hidayat explained that in this virtual championship, each athlete was asked to make a video according to the class of competition that he was participating in.
